The MARION 1851

departed Plymouth, England on Monday March 24th 1851
with 350 emigrants from all over the United Kingdom.
The Wiltshire Emigration Association presented each emigrant family
from Wiltshire with a bible.

The MARION struck the outer edge of Troubridge Shoal at about 10pm on Tuesday July 29, 1851
(almost within sight of Adelaide), and although the ship was subsequently wrecked,
all passengers and crew made it safely to shore".
